The National Maritime Museum Falmouth is the centrepiece of an international leisure / tourism complex, which wraps around a new waterside piazza holding up to 4,000 people, created for concerts, exhibitions and major events and including restaurants, shops and cafes. Opened in 2002, the National Maritime Museum building has been custom-designed to bring to life the stories of boats, maritime themes and Cornwall's heritage, with an array galleries, shops and restaurants.

Constructed between 1540 and 1545, Pendennis Castle and its sister St Mawes Castle form the Cornish end of the chain of coastal castles built by Henry VIII to counter a threat from France and Spain. Thereafter Pendennis was frequently adapted to face new enemies over 400 years, right through until World War II. There are a wide range of attractions at the castle including an interactive exhibition and cafe. The views are also absolutely stunning.

Located just back from Falmouth Sea Front, the Princess Pavilion is Falmouth's entertainment centre featuring top names and top shows. The Pavilion provides a year round programme of music for all musical tastes plus drama, variety and festivals. There is a cafe and a fully licensed bar together a lovely, traditional bandstand.

One of Falmouth's premier attractions, the Leisure Pool at Ships & Castles provides daily fun for all the family throughout the year with lots of exciting features including a wave machine which brings the thrill of the ocean in-doors and a river ride which sweeps you along at an exciting speed. The 70 metre flume is the longest in the region and is a surefire hit with children and adults. There is also a gym with the latest in hi-tech cycles, treadmills and steppers, plus rowing machines and strength equipment for a complete workout.

Located just back from Falmouth Sea Front, Gyllyngdune Gardens features many exotic and sub-tropical plants from as far afield as China and Australasia. From 1688 to 1852, Packet Ships sailed from Falmouth carrying mail and goods to the Mediterranean and the Americas. Many plants were brought back, and they thrived in the regions subtropical climate. These world wide voyages led to the creation of many unique gardens, including Gyllyngdune, a garden with a history rich in people, places and plants.

The National Trust have several spectacular gardens in Cornwall including Glendurgan, Trelissick, Trerice and Cotehele. Glendurgan is located above the beautiful hamlet of Durgan on the Helford River. Cotehele is a Tudor house with many stories and legends, festooned with tapestries and adorned with textiles. Trerice is an intimate Elizabethan manor. Trelissick is located in a beautiful setting on the River Fal.

Trebah Garden is a sub-tropical paradise with a stunning coastal backdrop leading down on to a beach on the scenic Helford River. Trebah offers the visitor a year round experience. In Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter there is a spectacular array of plants including Rhododendrons, Magnolias, Camellias, Giant Gunnera and Hydrangeas.

The South West Coast Path is Britain's longest National Trail, running from Minehead in Somerset to South Haven Point near Poole Dorset. The path includes two UNESCO World Heritage sites. The path is unique because it is based on a working footpath which was in use until comparatively modern times. Coastguards used to patrol the whole coast of the South West Peninsula on foot, every day, in the course of their duties. It was the essence of their job that the coastguards had literally to be able to see into every cove and inlet on the coast. This meant that their well-beaten path, usually with stone stiles, had to hug the cliff top, so providing the splendidly scenic coastal views we get today.

The small, picturesque town of St Ives has attracted painters for over a century including JMW Turner among many others. Many artists are associated with St Ives and West Cornwall, with its rich history and its vivid artistic life. Thus it is very appropriate that we have a branch of the world renowned Tate Gallery located here.

The National Seal Sanctuary is set in the picturesque Helford Estuary, by the beautiful village of Gweek, in Cornwall. The Sanctuary is a busy rescue centre, and also has resident Grey Seals, Common Seals, Californian and Patagonian Sea Lions, Goats, Ponies and Otters. Visitors can choose to adopt a seal and sponsor it on its road to eventual recovery and release back to the wild.

The Falmouth Spring Festival is a a wonderful early season celebration of coast, community and culture. The festival brings an explosion of colour, life and activity to the town. Events include Paint the Town Yellow Day and the Spring Flower Festival together with a range of games and fitness events. We also have Science in the Pub run by leading academics from the University of Exeter to entertain and amaze you.

This fantastic ten day festival is a not-for-profit community festival which encompasses over 150 events varying from music and drama, the arts and heritage to gig racing, swimming, walking and lots more. All the action takes place in Falmouth, Truro and around the Roseland Peninsula where there are a wide range of events to take part in.

Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival is one of the largest free nautical music and song festivals in Europe! The town will be filled with music, singing and infused with a great community spirit. This year we have 62 groups from all over the UK as well as from Brittany, Holland and Ireland who will each perform their unique take on sea songs and shanties in multiple venues throughout the town. From cosy pubs to professionally engineered main stages.

Timed to coincide with Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival, this sailing event attracts classic cruisers, racers and working boats with Bermudan, gaff and lug rigs. There are races and parades in the Carrick Roads and Falmouth Bay. The 2018 event welcomed 192 boats, many from the south west, but also from Bristol, the Thames, the Solent, Brittany and one participant from the USA.

Dating back to a local sailing regatta held in 1837, Falmouth Week has grown into the largest sailing regatta in the south west with more than 200 yachts racing over eight days. There is also a lively programme of shoreside events taking place from the Moor to Events Square including the carnival, fireworks, air displays, daytime and evening entertainment bands/acts, children's activities and much more.

Falmouth Oyster Festival celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season, the diversity and quality of Cornish Seafood and in particular, one of the last remaining traditional oyster fisheries, dredging by sail and hand punt. Daily cookery demonstrations are held during the festival by top chefs and food experts from Cornwall's hotels and restaurants, inspiring visitors to try their hand at unusual and exciting seafood combinations and indulge in the tastes of native oysters, wines, ales and local produce.
